Kingfisher House, Juniper Drive, Battersea Reach, London, SW18 1TXWe were approached by the clients' architects, Thompson & Baroni, to prepare design proposals for relativity contemporary gardens to complement an elegant Victorian Terraced property that fronted on the Hampstead Heath. The Architects were carrying out a complete renovation and improvements to the internal layout and wanted to ensure that the gardens were a natural extension of the house.

The brief was that the rear garden should enhance and detail the indicative design prepared by Thompson + Baroni Architects to create a beautiful low maintenance garden, which incorporated feature trees underplanted predominately with a selection of evergreen shrubs for year-round structure and interest. The garden is used by all of the family. The front garden needed to be classic & elegant in style with low maintenance
Our team of garden designers and Landscape Architects prepared a complete design package that included 3d models of both the front and back gardens to ensure that the clients fully understood the scheme. They ensured that the design allowed for easy access to all areas, a large patio close to the house and a stylish multi-use studio as a focal point at the end of the garden.

The Clients also wanted some feature planting, albeit very low maintenance. Our proposal included a “miniature” cherry tree avenue along the neighbouring boundaries framing the vista to the building, as well as beautiful hardwood screens, faux lawn and smooth sandstone. The scheme also included irrigation and lighting throughout.
The proposals for the front garden included a complete restoration of all of the surfaces and installation of beautiful sandstone bull-nosed steps to completely transform the entrance to the property. The old planting was removed and replaced with new mature planting that includes an ornamental feature tree and evergreen hedging that is viewed from the ground floor.
The whole project was overseen by our in house team of professional project managers and was constructed by our own highly skilled foremen and craftsmen. The clients are delighted with the result.
