Private Gardens

The owners of this elegant Georgian townhouse approached us to prepare designs for their relatively small outdoor space. The rear garden consisted of both an upper and lower terrace and high walls to all both sides and a mews house that backed onto the property. The brief was to prepare a design that reflected the interior design with a very limited pallet of materials, predominantly within a selection of varying grey colours combined with fawn and off white, taking the colour theme from the facade of the mews house. The clients wanted an area that could be used for dining, lounging and entertaining.

Our team of landscape architects and garden designers, realising that the floor space was very restricted, proposed that the gardens were enhanced by the introduction of a fabulous lush living wall. The upper terrace surfacing was finished in a high-quality basalt paving and beautiful furniture was chosen for both the lounging and dining areas.

The clients were very happy with the proposals and our experienced team of Project Managers, Foreman and Tradesman installed the gardens and completed the scheme to a very tight schedule with as little interruption to the Client as possible.

Another feature wall was created; using beautiful espaliered pear trees planted within handcrafted Ateliervierkant Pots. The existing arches on the mews house were enhanced by the introduction of trellised and stepped window boxes that were planted with a combination of formal hedging, roses and flowering evergreen scented Jasmine. The whole garden is irrigated to ensure that the planting thrives and a subtle lighting scheme enhances the foliage and encourages the use of the garden all year round

The clients were delighted with the completed scheme that has created a feeling of being surrounded by lush foliage, whilst still retaining generous space to enjoy the garden.
